Dear Sue and David, We had a great holiday in France, after the great few days in Puyfavard we drove to Amboise (Loire). After that we did the coast from D-Day at Normandy. Last Thursday we drove home safe. Thanks a lot for the great days! Little question: can you send us the picture by email from the bbq-night? Kind regards, Brechje & Marcel The Netherlands (20/8/07) |

Dear Sue and Dave, Our first Chambre d'Hote experience was great, what a beautiful place to start our vacation in the Dordogne. The family room we had was very nice (and big) with comfortable beds (we needed that after our drive from Holland). The way the two of you received us was heartwarming, we felt ourselves immediately at home. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the conversations with you and your other guests while drinking some rosé in the garden, while our daughter was playing Jeu de Boules with her English friend. And Sue, we will never forget your cooking skills!! The duck you prepared and served us was fantastic! When we visit the Dordogne again, we’ll certainly spend some nights at Le Puyfavard again. Thanks for having us and making the beginning of our vacation unforgettable. Kind regards, Ilse, Nienke & Guido Rafiné Holland (14/08/07) |

Hello David, Thanks once again for putting us up last week at your beautiful house. Myself, Sinead and David all really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast, the rooms, pool, garden and your hospitality were fantastic! Our friend's wedding went really well in Marmande/Bazas, a truly great occasion. Apparently the Franch guests even understood the french bit of my best man's speech! If ever I'm in the area again it would be lovely to re-visit. Best wishes Paul (13/08/07) |

Hello Dave en Sue, Please don't mind my English writing; its al lot more difficult than speaking the English language! I can't resist writing you however, for I've had such a good time during our short visit at your restored Maison -de - maitre. How are you nowadays? Did you enjoy the stay of the English family Ruth and Ian, I believe.....? I'd like to thank you very much for your warm hospitality and if you have a web log or an official site of your Maison, please let me know. I wish you all the best!! Diana Jans (1/08/07)

Dear David and Sue. You may well have business coming your way , as i have been telling everyone about our marvellous stay. My dad said he might be interested, and i gave the website address to a friend at work who has a friend in Limoges with a small house who often needs a place for her friends to stay. Just to say, Lyla had thrown up by Thiviers and needed a full change. Apart from that the return trip was great. With 2 small children ( 1 and 3 ) travelling to strange guest houses can be a bit of a nightmare and i was worried when i saw how beautifully decorated Puyfavard was. I needn't have been, Sue and Dave welcome you into their home as if they've known you for years. The atmosphere could not be more relaxed and accomodating. Our kids were treated like princesses, meals were cooked and changed for them without a moments fuss. talking of eating, if you can find a better cooked 5 course meal in the whole of the Dordogne i would eat my hat. Sue and Dave are great hosts. The family room we had at the top of the house was beautifully decorated and was huge, but it was the pool that our kids loved. Puyfavard is the sort of place that you will want to go back to again and again, the area is lovely and with places like this to stay, we are certainly going back. Thanks again for treating us so well and we all look forward to seeing you again soon. Take care and hope you keep busy Dave George Scarlett and Lyla Nellist x (11-07-07) |

Hi Sue and Dave Just to say we arrived safely back in the Uk 4 hours early, the run back to Calais did'nt take so long and we hopped on an earlier train. I would like to say how much we appreciated the hospitality we received from yoursleves, as I said when we were there, why would anyone want to stay in a Hotel when they could stay at Le Puyfavad, the welcome, the accommodation/food and the setting and location are really lovely. If we come back to the area we would most definately stay with you again and recommend you to anyone thinking of booking. Thankyou once again Cathy and Andrew Jukes (30-06-07) |

Hi Dave and Sue, Sorry this message is late but I wanted to thank you for an extremely enjoyable visit to your chambres d'hotes. The standard of accommodation was far in excess of anything I have experienced in France so far and also better than many of the top hotels I have stayed in the uk. Your company was great and the evening meal terrific. I only wish I could have stayed more than one night. I will recommend you to anyone I know who is visiting your area and I will of course stay with you again next time I am there. Keep the juke box going!! Regards, Steve North (24/06/07)

Dear Dave and Sue, Well it's been a week since we returned to a (very) wet Scotland and France seems a long way away. We really enjoyed staying with you in your beautiful house and have already begun planning our next trip to France. I can't praise La Puyfavard highly enough. Dave and Sue's striking house sits on a hill overlooking the beautiful Perigord Vert and has a very large garden with fantastic views that are just ideal for enjoying on a tranquil evening with a glass of the local red. If you're feeling more energetic the swimming pool is a must, but you can also enjoy dining alfresco, soaking up the evening sunshine and relaxing in this most perfect and picturesque part of France. We had a really warm welcome from Dave and Sue when we arrived. We had booked initially for a night, stayed for three and it would have been more if our plans had allowed. We will definitely be returning. Completely unspoilt by development, if you like a relaxing holiday in perfect surroundings, good food and wine – then this is the destination for you". Also attached is the photo of Garry and the cat (!). Very best wishes, Victoria (24/06/07) |

This place is beautiful! It's near Brantome in a very peaceful little community. The rooms were immaculate!
Gorgeous furniture in every room and a nice new pool. We were spoiled from the moment we arrived.
Fantastic english breakfast and great company too. They upgraded our room for no extra charge.
It's best to rent a car to get there. We want to come back! Jesse Ireland, Seattle 6/06/07

Dear Dave & Sue Well we arrived back on time although we had a nightmare trying to find a petrol station. we ended up driving into Limoges! We just want to thank you for making our first stay if France a special one. You were very accommadating and made us feel at home, in fact we felt spoilt! You have made your house beautiful and the setting and grounds were amazing. The home cooked food was a real treat too. We are just glad we had the opportunity to share it with you and we would definately recommend to anyone wanting a special stay in a great location in the Dordogne for them to pay you a visit. Thanks again and we shall look forward to a future stay with you Regards Katy & Ash |

Hi Dave and Sue Sorry i haven't got back to you sooner, i don't know where the time has gone. I am now on a 2 week holiday and playing catch up. It was great to meet you both and i would give my highest recommendations to anyone looking for facilities, such as yours! You made us feel so at home. After a day of travelling, visiting properties, it was such a joy to know we had an evening meal to look forward to and what a wonderful meal it was! The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, very clean, and very comfortable. We are both looking forward to meeting you again, sometime in June! Kind regards Mairi and Ren Bruschi |

Hi, I’ve just spoke to my parents and they’ve asked me to pass on their thanks for the wonderful stay they had with you earlier this week. Would you happen to have any double occupancy availability for the week between 28th May and the 3rd June as we are planning to come over ourselves? Regards, Paul and Wendy Fitton |
