| June 21st | Fête de la Music—All over France musicians, groups and orchestras of all types play in the streets during the evening of mid-summer’s day. In Perigueux the city centre is totally closed to traffic from 7pm onwards and the streets vibrate to the marching bands creating a real Mardi-Gras atmosphere until the early hours of the morning. The historic squares are the venues for all types of music from rock to classical and line-dancing and should not be missed. |
| July 13th-14th | Bastille Day Celebrations----The major French Bank Holiday!! Fireworks light up the skies in villages all over France. Locally there are spectacular displays at Brantôme, Corgniac and Perigueux and there is dancing and merry-making in the streets with the local restaurants full to capacity. |
| July 27th | Tour de France. The 18th stage from Cahors-Angouleme passes through Brantôme on 27th July. Contact us for accommodation. |
| August 19th | Feu d’artifice à Puyguilhem. A spectacular firework and music display se against the magnificent chateau at Puyguilhem. A lantern-lit procession precedes the display and the centre of Villars is turned into a funfair afterwards to mark the finale of the Villars Fete. |
| September 15-17th | The city of Angoulême will host the 29th edition of the Circuit des
Remparts in 2007, to the echo of historic racing cars within its high medieval
walls. The town is completely taken over with the event and the atmosphere is
akin to a more friendly and accessible Monaco during the Grand Prix. Spectators
and competitors can mix freely in the bars, hotels and restaurants. Crowds watch
the rally come into town on Saturday and the Concours d’Elegance and Concours
